Eastern Boarder is a great place to buy all of your snowboard gear. They have a great selection of outerware-- i got a really hot Burton Jacket there in a color that I hadn't seen anywhere else this season. Their sales staff is soooo friendly and nice. They really go out of their way to help you out if you are a regular-- they even got me a discount on a snowboard rack for my car.

They are definitely worth the trek down the Mass Pike-- my husband and I always choose them even though there are other places we could go for our snowboard needs in the city. If you can catch their summer sale and don't mind trying on insulated jackets and pants in 80 degree weather, the deals are really great. Awesome selection of snowboards too (and skateboards, sneakers, and clothing!)

Mavericks

Mavericks is a surf competition in Northern California, just south of San Francisco near Half Moon Bay. This is the epic surf event of the year. Huge waves are brought on by the heavy rain and storms that hit the Pacific Coast during the winter season. Surfers get 24 hours notice to make or break it. This year's event took place January 12th. If you want to see more, check out the Mavericks website here. If you ever get out to this amazing spot, make sure to grab some food and beers at the Half Moon Bay Brewery.
